Run For Your Life It's Poetry Time |
Was It Today?
You were not taught what you should know,
Just told what you should think. And errors of today may push Tomorrow past the brink. You have to watch it all so close, Might miss it if you blink. But there is no Rosetta stone, No secret hidden link. Tomorrow is what we see now, As seen from yesterday. The choices that we make while here, Will be with us to stay. But choice is not just black or white, Or even shades of gray. It goes beyond the colors found, Within a split light ray. I know it seems there's more B.S., Than your mind can conceive. "I'm on your side" they say to you, "There's nothing up my sleeve." "Just let me drive I'll do what's right, I promise I won't weave." You just don't know who you should trust, or what you can believe. Whoever can yell loud enough, It seems must be appeased. But it is just not possible For them all to be pleased. You know that somewhere someone thinks, What you believe's diseased. They think that you should be locked up, And your possessions seized. - Jeff Huber (1995) |
